Holiday Overview
A Polish Expedition led by the legendary Andrzej Zawada made the first triumphant ascent of Kunyang Chhish in 1971. The only other successful ascent to the summit happened in 1988 when two daring British climbers added their names to the annals of this tremendous peak.
Kunyang Chhish is a complicated mountain with five distinct peaks, each with its own set of challenges:
- Kunyang Chhish Main: 7,852 m (25,761 ft).
- South Kunyang Chhish: 7,620 metres (25,000 ft)
- Kunyang Chhish East: 7,400 m (24,300 ft).
- Kunyang Chhish West: 7,350 m (24,110 ft).
- North Kunyang Chhish: 7,108 metres (23,320 feet)
Your expedition to conquer Kunyang Chhish departs from the beautiful Hispar Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan. While an alternate route from Baltoro begins at the Biafo Glacier, the travel via the Hispar Valley and the Hispar Glacier is typically preferred due to its relative easiness and shorter approach. Summer months, from May to August, are ideal for climbing since the mountain is at its most appealing.
The Karakoram Mountain Range is a massive geological wonder that straddles Pakistan and China and contains some of the world's most famous peaks, including the famed K2 and Nanga Parbat. This huge range, 500 kilometres long and 200 kilometres wide, joins with the Hindukush and Himalaya Mountains at several spots. It is also home to various rivers, including the legendary Hunza and the great Indus.
The Kunyang Chhish Expedition allows you to feel the exhilaration of conquering a massive peak while immersing yourself in Gilgit-Baltistan's magnificent landscapes and varied cultures. It's a journey that will live on in your memory as a monument to human perseverance and the magnificence of nature.
