Haramosh Peak originally gained international attention in 1947, when a Swiss team discovered it, sparking more explorations.
The route to Haramosh Peak begins in the Gilgit-Baltistan district of Skardu. There is also a shorter path available from Gilgit city, offering mountaineers easy access to this imposing peak. The best time to attempt this difficult ascent is between May and August when weather conditions are most favourable for mountaineering endeavours.
The Karakoram Mountain Range, a geological marvel of epic proportions that runs across Pakistan and China, is home to some of the world's most famous peaks, including the famed K2. Aside from its towering mountains, the region is known for its gorgeous valleys and unique populations, such as Skardu, Hunza, and Gilgit. The fast-flowing Hunza River, a defining feature of the landscape, joins the Indus River in the south and flows through the country to the Arabian Sea.
