Holiday Overview
Your adventure begins in Shimshal Valley, a place famed for its pristine beauty and difficult landscapes. You will not only put your mountaineering skills to the test on this excursion, but you will also have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring natural magnificence of the Karakoram.
The Karakoram Mountain Range, a massive mountain range spanning Pakistan and China, is famous for housing some of the world's most recognizable peaks, including the fabled K2 and Gasherbrum. This range joins the Hindu Kush and Himalaya Mountains, creating a geological wonder. It is approximately 500 kilometers long and 200 kilometers wide. The Karakoram is not just a mountaineer's paradise, but also home to a vast range of valleys and settlements, each with its own distinct combination of culture and natural beauty.
The Malangutti Sar Expedition is your entry point into this magnificent region. It offers a stunning ride over the Karakoram Mountains, with mesmerizing views of majestic gray-backed peaks and huge glaciers, some of the largest and highest on the planet. Your voyage begins at Hispar, a town in Gilgit-Baltistan's Nagar Valley. While an alternative route from the Biafo Glacier in the Baltoro region exists, the way through the Nagar Valley and the Hispar Glacier is known for being more accessible and shorter, making it the preferred choice for this expedition.
The best time to try the peak is often during the summer months of Pakistan, from May to August, when weather conditions are more favorable for mountaineering. It is crucial to note that the peaks in the Baltoro Muztagh are recognized for their difficulty and should only be attempted by very experienced climbers.
The Malangutti Sar Expedition invites you to push your limits, connect with the raw grandeur of the Karakoram, and make memories to last a lifetime. This trek promises not just a spectacular summit ascent but also an exploration of one of the world's most iconic mountain ranges. Join us as we travel deep into the Karakoram and ascend Malangutti Sar, a symbol of human perseverance in the face of nature's grandeur.
