Holiday Overview
Malubiting Peak is nestled within the rough beauty of these highlands, beside two other notable peaks, Rakaposhi and Haramosh Peak. As the range's second-highest peak, it captures your attention with its sheer magnificence and poses a challenge that draws adventurers and mountaineers from all over the world.
Malubiting Peak's history is distinguished by tenacity and an indomitable spirit of exploration. The trek to the main summit was far from easy, as the first successful ascent took six attempts beginning in 1955. Finally, an Austrian team led by Horst Schindlbacher ascended this hard summit in 1971, marking a historic milestone in climbing. According to records, just one previous successful expedition to Malubiting Peak occurred, in 1997, conducted by a Swiss-German team.
Your journey to the peak begins in the Gilgit-Baltistan district of Skardu, where you may immerse yourself in the region's rich culture and stunning surroundings. A shorter route from Gilgit city is also available, providing a more accelerated way to this mountaineering challenge. The best season to climb is between May and August when the weather is most agreeable for such an adventure.
Malubiting Peak is both a testimony to human effort and a part of the breathtaking natural scenery. The summit is encircled by the fast-flowing Hunza River, which, when it joins the huge Indus River to the south, begins a trip that will take it throughout the country and eventually reach the Arabian Sea.
The Karakoram Mountain Range, a geological wonder of epic proportions that stretches across Pakistan and China, is home to some of the world's most iconic peaks, including the awe-inspiring K2. This range, which is approximately 500 kilometers long and 200 kilometers wide, serves as a critical link between the Hindukush and Himalaya Mountains. The region is not only a haven for mountaineers, but it also has a broad range of valleys and settlements, including Skardu, Hunza, and Gilgit, each with its own cultural and natural experience.
Following your Malubiting Peak Expedition, you'll get the chance to relax and enjoy the grandeur of one of Pakistan's most beautiful regions, the Skardu District. It's an opportunity to refuel, reflect on your accomplishments, and take in the wonderful surroundings.
