Holiday Overview
The Karakoram Mountain Range, a vast natural wonder that stretches over Pakistan and China, is famous for housing some of the world's most recognisable peaks, including the famed K2 and the fearsome Gasherbrum. This mountain range, which stretches for 500 kilometres and has a width of 200 kilometres, connects with the Hindu Kush and Himalaya Mountains at several spots. The window of opportunity to climb Balti Peak opens during the summer months, from May to August, when weather conditions are most favourable.
This trek begins in the enthralling Hushe and Shyok Valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan. These valleys are surrounded by towering peaks, some of which reach the majestic 7,000-meter threshold, making it a perfect location for climbers and adventurers. Balti Peak itself is set among a beautiful landscape of peaks ranging from 5,000 metres to huge summits that soar beyond 6,000 metres and even reach a regal 7,000 metres. Nature's majesty knows no bounds in this land.
Participants are exposed to stunning views of valleys, including the picturesque Nagar, Haramosh, and Hunza regions, as the trip progresses, escorted by the rapid and shimmering waters of the Hunza River. This tour captures the spirit of Pakistan's northern grandeur and culminates when the Hunza River joins the massive Indus River, which meanders its way to the Arabian Sea in Pakistan's southern reaches. The Balti Peak Expedition is more than just a mountain-climbing adventure; it is a profound immersion in the region's pure natural beauties.
